Year Round Job Opportunities

The Park has a number of opportunities for instructors to teach classes or workshop during the day, afterschool, evenings and weekends to adults and kids.

Smith’s Clove Park is looking for hourly instructors/teachers to facilitate classes and programs at the Park.

Salary compensatory with experience and/or training.

Classes are offered in 1 1/2 hour blocks of time within a 8 week session, with 3 sessions per year. Sessions run in conjunction with the school year. Additional times may be available depeding on instructor’s availability

Classes include; toddler’s mommy and me, open play sessions, preschool classes, instructional sport, art and music. Additional classes offered afterschool and weekends, such as cooking and woodworking. Will consider additional programs if you have a specific class or skill you would like to share.

Seasonal Laborer Opportunities

The Monroe Joint Park and Recreation Commission seeks Seasonal Laborers for the Maintenance Department. Eligible candidates must be 18 years of age and possess a valid NYS Driver's License.

Hours are 7:30 - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Responsible for assisting with the daily maintenance of buildings, ball fields, sport courts, landscaping comfort stations, dog park, playgrounds, and interactionn wih the public. 

Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience.

Summer Camp Job Opportunities

The following positions are available during our Summer Camp:

Activities Director-  Minimum 2 yr college degree and experience in organizing camp activities. CPR and /or First Aid Certified.

Group Leader- 2 yr college degree and/ or experience in camp activities. CPR and /or First Aid Certified.

Medical Director- EMT or Nursing Certified. Child care experience preferred. Works closely with Orange County DOH.

Arts & Crafts Director- Creative person with artistic experience

Counselors- Minimum 16 yrs. Must demonstrate, enthusiasm and a desire to present a positive influence on young children. Previous experience, CPR and/or First Aid a plus.

Sport Camps Instructors- Experienced in running various instructional mini sport camps. Offered during camp program.

Security- Minimum 18 yrs. Assist in directing visitors, monitor entrance/grounds during the camp program and direct traffic. Previous experience, CPR, and/or First Aid a plus.
